The vast majority of our clients like to manage their own websites. That’s why we focussed on Content Management Systems (CMS) many years ago. They were the first DIY websites really because they allowed a business to manage it's own website content. What's changed now is that the layout and design of the pages can be changed by the website owner. Our system is a super friendly drag and drop Page builder. Training is available but a lot of people don't need it because the system is super easy. You can add new pages and posts as and when you want to and you can easily alter the menu’s and social media links. DIY websites are the way to go for a lot of businesses but choosing the right one is crucial.
You may like to go further and change the headers and footers and change what’s going on in desktop sidebars. We offer a good balance of control without it being overwhelming. If you really need to access the technical bits you can, they're just a click away if you want them.
Because some of these changes are infrequent it’s natural to forget how to do them after a few months. So, with our custom themes we arrange access to bite size refresher video’s to remind editors how to do it. Or we can talk logged in users through the process over the phone if that’s appropriate or quicker. Sometimes if you’re stuck we’ll produce a little video walking you through whatever you’re stuck with. We’re that nice.
Since early 2016 we have been installing page builder options on some of our websites which allow you to easily redesign page layouts with a simple drag and drop visual interface. There’s no code and it’s super easy. It’s not for everyone but if you’ve got a good idea of how you want your pages to look it can be perfect. It’s actually fun. Honest!
With these tools you can build page layouts from scratch or start with the supplied templates and change them around to suit. You can then save the template you’ve built and apply it to any other new pages and so on and so on.
Don’t worry though, we’ll build layouts for you if you need them, so you don’t have a blank canvas.
You can even Shopify your site by pasting in Buy buttons from the world’s finest and easiest to use ecommerce system. Yes WordPress with Shopify in it, simply brilliant!
Our custom themes set you up with a themed header and footer, fonts, brand matching colours, functionality and a number of agreed page layouts. You can then manage the site’s content and if you wish, create more page layouts. You can even create different layouts for mobile, tablet and desktop so you can be mobile first but also cater for the tablet and desktop audience.
We lay the foundations to your specification and then you take over and become independent. We’re here if you need us but you probably won’t! There’s a wide range of support options available so you’re never stuck and you pay for only what you need.
Unlike Wix you can change your theme as you go along until you are happy with it. Even our £500 website deal gives you 8 hours of design time. So you can pick and choose when to get a bit of help with the tricky bits. We're sold on DIY websites but don't fall for the 'Wix trap' of no ownership or portability!
Our journey began in 1997 with Adobe Pagemill and we’ve been through the GoLive and Dreamweaver days before building our own CMS. After discovering WordPress/Genesis in 2009 we phased out our own CMS and specialised in WordPress. Technology doesn’t stand still and Gutenberg is going to offer more options in 2018. We’re on top of that as well as the constant changes that Google bring about. Join us and let us show you how to take proper control of your company website.
